I remember when I was little and going over to Grandma’s house to paint wooden figures in her craft room. From a very early age I was a crafty person. I’m also someone that likes to keep real busy and taking the time to make things for others.
I started knitting about five years ago and picked it back up again in the winter of 2014. I feel back in love with making things and talking to anyone that would listen about my latest project.
It was at a stitch night one week-day evening when I was admiring modern hand-made quilts in a shop that I knew what I wanted for my birthday – a sewing machine.
Combining these two pursuits along with my enjoyment of chatting with others over coffee about crafts that and I decided to create Between Friends. I hope you find this site to be like sitting down with me for a cup of coffee to talk about finished projects, projects on the go and all things fibre and thread. So don’t be afraid to comment, email or post and I’ll be sure to respond.
About Me: I grew up in the small, tourist town of Bracebridge, Ontario and moved to Toronto after finishing college where I focused on Interior Design and Project Management. I now work full time as an infrastructure project planner at an area hospital. I love to spend my evenings with friends, my sewing machine, my yarn or laptop and my weekends with lots of good coffee, horses and adventure planning.
